Sell Your Solar

How it works

From enquiry to agreement, one step at a time.

A solar buyback is a commercial transaction, so it is assessed carefully. Here is what each stage involves and who does the work.
  1. 01

    Initial enquiry

    You

Complete the assessment form with the installation address, the approximate system size if you know it, and whether the business owns the system. Documents are optional at this stage.

  2. 02

    System verification

    Us

We confirm the basics: where the system is, roughly how large it is and what kind of installation it is. We may use your documents and other authorised information sources.

  3. 03

    Asset ownership

    Together

We work out who owns the system, the building and the business — they can be different parties — and whether any finance, lease or other agreement applies to the solar equipment.

  4. 04

    Technical assessment

    Us

We look at condition, age, components, generation history and remaining useful life. Depending on the system, this may involve monitoring data, documentation and a site inspection.

  5. 05

    Commercial assessment

    Us

We consider how the system's value and an ongoing electricity arrangement could work for both parties, including how much of the generation is used onsite.

  6. 06

    Potential acquisition proposal

    Us → you

If the system appears suitable, we may put forward a proposal. Any proposal is non-binding until formal agreements are negotiated and signed. You are free to decline.

  7. 07

    Possible power purchase agreement

    Together

Where both parties agree, an onsite PPA could let your business keep buying electricity generated by the system. Its price, term and conditions are negotiated, not fixed in advance.

  8. 08

    Next steps

    Together

If both parties decide to proceed, the transaction moves to formal documentation, consents (for example from a financier or landlord) and transfer. Independent legal and financial advice is recommended.

Electricity supply arrangements may be subject to energy regulation, including Australian Energy Regulator exemption conditions. Any arrangement would be structured with appropriate professional advice.
